Rate Information for Residential accounts

Your bill will be sent out monthly just before the first of the month and is due by the 10th. A late charge of 5% will be charged on delinquent accounts. To avoid this late charge make sure that your payment is mailed before the 10th.

Please return the top portion of the bill and a current meter reading along with your payment. Customers with more than three monthly accounts will receive a "summary" bill that totals the amount due and lists each of the accounts covered by the summary bill. You may pay the total amount on the summary page but we will still need the meter reading for each meter on the detailed bills.

There is a basic charge of $15 per month on rural residential accounts. This charge partially defrays the operation and maintenance cost of the transformer, meter, and lines. Additional charges are based on the number of kilowatt hours used.

Basic Charge $15.00
Next 500 kWh 10.75¢ per kWh $53.75
Next 500 kWh 9.0¢ per kWh $45.00
Your first 1000 hours $113.75
Over 1000 kWh June 1st - September 30th at 7.0¢ per kWh;
October 1st - May 31st at 5.6¢ per kWh

Town rates are slightly lower due to the close proximity of the accounts, which allow us to use one transformer to service multiple accounts. The basic charge for a town residential account is $10.00 per month. Additional charges are again based on the kilowatt hours used.

Basic Charge $10.00
Next 500 kWh 10.3¢ per kWh $51.50
Next 500 kWh 8.0¢ per kWh $40.00
Your first 1000 hours $101.50
Over 1000 kWh June 1st - September 30th at 7.0¢ per kWh
October 1st - May 31st at 5.6¢ per kWh

Deposit:
New accounts are required to submit a $150.00 deposit at the time the service is placed in your name. This deposit may be waived if you have a good credit history with the District or if you provide a credit reference letter from your previous utility provider. This deposit will be refunded after 12 months of good payment history.

Additional Fees and Charges:
We ask that you submit a current meter reading every month. If you do not submit a meter reading for two consecutive months, we will read your meter and add a charge of $25.00 for the service.

A $50.00 fee will be assessed if our Area Service Personnel are required to contact you or to disconnect the service for non-payment. An additional $50.00 ($100.00 after hours) will be charged to reconnect a disconnected service.

There will be a $12.00 charge on all checks returned by your bank for non-sufficient funds.

Rate Information for Annual Stockwell Services

These rates are available to provide power for watering livestock or other seasonal service. Accounts are billed annually around April 1st and payments are due by April 20th.

Most of these accounts are assumed to be agriculture related and as such will be exempt from state sales tax. Your signature on the application verifies this tax-exempt status.

A late charge of 5% will be charged on delinquent accounts. To avoid this late charge make sure that your payment is mailed before the 20th of the month.

Rates:
There is a prepayment and minimum charge of $190.00 per year or for any portion of a year. Additional charges are based actual kWh consumption plus any additional charges such as security lights. The prepayment charge partially defrays the operation and maintenance cost of the transformer, meter, and lines.

Prepayment $190.00
First 3000 kwh 8.8¢ per kwh $264.00
Next 3000 kwh 9.35¢ per kwh $280.50

Since these accounts are only read and billed once each year, variations in usage may go undetected for some time (problems with overflowing tanks or a stopped meter may not be detected until the meter is read). Accounts with high usage will be evaluated and may be converted to monthly accounts to allow them to be reviewed on a more frequent basis.
