Utility Line Program Scholarship

We are pleased to advise high school students or any high school graduate living within our service area or in areas within our service territory outer boundary, who may be interested in continuing their education, that the Custer Public Power District will offer a scholarship to any Vocational or Community College for the tuition of a Utility Line Program.

Nebraska Rural Electric Energy Camp

The camp is sponsored by the Nebraska Rural Electric Association and will be held for a week at Camp Comeca, Cozad, Nebraska. The camp has been held for over 35 years. The goal of the camp is to offer a program that challenges students in their education, recreation, and social development.  High school-age students learn about electricity, how it is generated and delivered, and how to work with and play around with electricity safely.  A competition is hosted for ambassadors who will be sent to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour of Washington, D.C. The NPPD Corporate Communication and Environmental Departments host one or two activities at the Energy Camp and have helped sponsor a tour of NPPD’s Gerald Gentleman Station located near Sutherland, Nebraska.

High Voltage Demonstration

Our crews travel the district demonstrating the importance of utility line safety.  One way they do this is through our high-voltage demonstration.

To schedule a high voltage demonstration for your event, school, or local fire department, please call Cindy at 308.872.2451
