Leadman. Custer Public Power is currently seeking a Lead Lineman for the Thedford outpost. The Leadman represents Custer PPD to customers. The Leadman assists in the direction of a crew in the construction and maintenance of either energized or de-energized electric utility plant. They provide effective leadership of assigned personnel and assure adherence to safety and specifications required in the construction and maintenance of either energized or de-energized electric utility plant. This includes coordination and directing construction and/or maintenance crews and all associated paperwork. Considerable care is required to ensure accurate district records. Work must be prepared promptly and deadlines met. Customer contact is required as well as the ability to appropriately identify, solve and respond to their needs. The work requires math skills as well as concentration, analytical and problem-solving skills, independent judgment, discretion, initiative and considerable knowledge of company policies and routines.
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate degree in line construction desired. Completion of the four-year Merchants Program (or equivalent) is required. Journeyman status and six to eight years’ experience in the construction, maintenance, and operation of electric transmission and distribution system and substations is required. Must be or will be trained in CPR, basic first aid, and capable of pole top and bucket truck rescue.
Location is Thedford-based fieldwork.
